Abstract. The theory of multidimensional persistence captures the topology of a multiﬁltration – a multiparameter family of increasing spaces. Multiﬁltrations arise naturally in the topological analysis of scientiﬁc data. In this paper, we give a polynomial time algorithm for computing multidimensional persistence.
