Dancing with a machine: a case of experience-driven design
For experience-driven design to become an influential design strategy, much effort should be put into method development and elaborate case studies. In the present paper, we present the design of an experiential copier on the basis of an interaction-centred design approach, called ViP. The approach supported us to pre-define the interaction with the machine, in the form of a multi-faceted experience. This experience was translated into a concept design of a copier. The result is a design that affords the intended, rich experience in every design feature: it ‘invites you for a dance’. Keywords Experience design, interaction, product design, emotion
