Estimation and Interpretation of Optical Flow Fields for Counting Moving Objects
The main goal of sequence analysis is the motion estimation of moving objects which are present in the scene. One of the most important approaches for motion estimation is based on the estimation of an approximated projection of 3D motion on the image plane, which is usually called optical flow. The collection in time of these optical flows can be useful to understand the object structure and behavior. In this paper, the problem of counting people by interpreting optical flow fields in space and time is presented. Experimental results of counting people who are going inlout of a public bus are reported.
