A generic multi-unit architecture for codesign methodologies

:Thispaper introduces a templatearchitecturefor codesignmethodologies.This architecture is basedon a data synchronizedcontrol schemethat is well adaptedto the implementation of numerous telecommunicationapplications specified with a datafrow model:The templatearchitecture permits an easyintegration of HW and SWcoarsegrain units. Communicationsbetweeninternal units are assumed to have an asynchronousprotocol that is the more general transfer mechanismbut also the more expensivein hardware resources.Hence,a communicationsynthesismethod ispresentedthat transforms asynchronouscommunicationsinto synchronousones.Resultson an acoustic echo canceller illustrate the interest of the approach.
