Linearization Techniques for Cross-Coupled Transconductor Circuits Used in Integrated Q-Enhanced LC Filters
Integrated Q-enhanced RF LC filters using negative resistances implemented using cross coupled pairs frequently suffer from poor linearity performance. Several linearization methods for these cross-coupled pairs, including previously published methods and a method proposed by the authors of this work are compared in terms of their equivalent negative resistances, linearity, noise performance, and tunability. Theoretical analyses and simulation results using Level 1 and BSIM3v3 MOS transistor models are given for each of the comparison criteria. Keywords— Linearity, Q-enhancement, LC filter, crosscoupled pair, negative resistance.
