Scheduling Real-Time Transactions with Disk Resident Data

How doesthe schedulingof IO requestsaffect the timelinessof transactions?How should exclusive and sharedlocking be handled?We describea new group of algorithmsfor schedulingrealtime transactionswhich produce serializable schedules. We present a model for scheduling transactionswith deadlinesonasingleprocessordiskresidentdatabasesystem, and evaluate the scheduling algorithms through detailedsimulation.
