: Internet based business leads to new challenges for Information Security with trust building and partner protection as the most important issues. This article gives an overview of security and threats taking into consideration the different interest of the parties involved (multilateral security). It also presents design criteria for multilateral security and discusses the state of the art and the future directions of technologies that are important for enterprises and multilateral security.
