Towards the formalization of interaction semantics
With the advent of Web 2.0 and the emergence of improved technologies to enhance UI, the importance of user experience and intuitiveness of Web interfaces led to the growth and success of Interaction Design. Web designers often turn to pre-defined and well-founded design patterns and user interaction paradigms to build novel and more effective Web interfaces. The rational behind Interaction Design patterns is based on user behavior and Web navigation studies. The "semantics" of user interaction is therefore a rich and interesting area that is worth exploring in association with traditional Semantic Web approaches. In this paper, we present our first attempts of an ontological formalization of interaction patterns and its implications.
