Information Grid Toolkit: Infrastructure of Shanghai Information Grid

A fundamental problem that confronts Shanghai Information Grid is to adopt a good Grid toolkit, since the “de facto” standard Globus Toolkit does not support Information Grid well enough. We have developed an OGSAcompatible Grid Middleware, Shanghai Information Grid Toolkit (IGT), which is optimized for Information Grid. Some important new features are provided in IGT: a small and fast core supported by self-developed standalone lightweight server program as hosting environment; extended Grid security infrastructure with additional security rules for Information Grid; information resource services used to manage and control remote information resources; lightweight monitoring and discovery service and enhanced index services employed in information services.
