Handling Specification Knowledge Evolution Using Context Lattices
Internet-based information technologies have considerable potential for improving collaboration in professional communities. In this paper, we explain the concept of user-driven specification of network information systems that these communities require, and we describe some problems related to finding the right focus for adequate user involvement. A methodological approach to the management of specification knowledge definitions, which involves composition norms, is summarized. Subsequently, an existing conceptual graph based definitional framework for contexts is presented. Conceptual graphs are a simple, general, and powerful way of representing and reasoning about complex knowledge structures. This definitional framework organizes such graphs in context lattices, allowing for their efficient handling. We show how context lattices can be used for structuring composition norms.
