Building a Photo Studio for Measurement Purposes
A digital photo studio was built to generate high quality real world input data for various imagebased rendering and vision algorithms. Special attention was paid to carefully control the lighting conditions in order to be able to acquire exact data about the surface properties of objects using readily available digital camera technology. This paper discusses the specific demands and requirements that arise from these goals for the equipment in the photo studio. Furthermore, we describe the typical workflow for one of our current projects, thereby illustrating the interoperation between the different devices.
