A framework for context-sensitive metadata description
Recent expectations regarding the new generation of Web strongly depend on the success of Semantic Web technology. Resource Description Framework (RDF) is a basis for an explicit and machine-readable representation of semantics of various Web resources and an enabling framework for interoperability of future Semantic Web-based applications. RDF is not suitable for describing highly dynamic and context-sensitive resources (e.g. industrial devices, processes, etc.). Therefore an appropriate extension of existing RDF is necessary. We present the Context Description Framework (CDF) as a logical extension of the existing RDF and the CDF Vocabulary Description Language (CDF-Schema).
